When many of our recent buyers asked if we knew how to contact the original maker of this unusual Tarot design, we decided to try and seek him out. From one of his more devoted customers we discovered that Endre had been offering tarot cards and wooden board games at divination shows and renaissance fairs for several years. We finally caught up with Endre and have convinced him to work with us so that he can offer his rare Tarot decks to a wider audience.

Endre is a truly gentle and gifted man. You can see his kind spirit in the tools he creates. His cards have inspired many people over the years. Being one of the few people trained at making this all-wood style of tarot, Endre's cards are destined to remain in demand with serious collectors for many years to come.

This is an original Wooden Tarot Deck fashioned by a true old world artisan and based on the artwork of the children's book, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz published by Frank Baum and Illustrated by W.W. Denslow in the year 1899.

This fantastic deck is based on the ORIGINAL artwork from Frank Baum's timeless classic. Some of the unforgettable illustrations in this deck include, Dorothy and Toto flying through the air in their aunt and uncle's house, Dorothy meeting the scarecrow, Meeting the Tin Man and many, many more! This story is touted by literary historians as being the first American fairy tale with uniquely American concepts that reflect life and fantasy in the New World. The box has an image of Dorothy with Glinda and her three new friends from the Land of Oz. Dorothy hands the magic helmet recovered from the Wicked Witch of the West over to Glinda so that she can get back to Kansas and her family. The caption on the box reads: "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz Tarot Cards Set".

The edges of the cards are trimmed in METALLIC GOLD. The edging stands out well against the rich dark wood finish found on the backs of each of the cards.
